Ongoing Professional Support Network
SEED monitors and supports an established network of certified early childhood trainers, demonstration sites and trained coaches, originally established by EISS.

  • Certified Trainers

Classroom teachers, administrators and college educators throughout the state who have been exemplary models in their field comprise our network of trainers.

  • Ongoing Professional Support
    • Demonstration site visits are available to childcare professionals, preschool and elementary classroom teachers who exhibit an exemplary program and agree to be models to other implementing educators.
    • On site Coaches facilitate professional growth to foster greater teacher competency, capability and performance by working directly and onsite with individual teachers or an entire staff.
  • California Preschool Instructional Network of OrangeCounty (CPIN)

SEED collaborates to provide high quality professional development for preschool administrators and teaching staff in compliance with new state preschool standards. This educational component initially focuses on school readiness as related to language and literacy for all children age three to five, including English learners and children with special needs.

Family Involvement

Valuing families as “educators at home”, SEED provides a menu of services to promote successful learning for all children, the building of relationships in diverse communities and effective family involvement.

  • Workshops for Parents and Families
    Direct services for parent and family groups are interactive and may cover all the content areas provided above for the educators and administrators.
  • Virtual Pre-K Training
    This program integrates early education, family involvement, and community learning environments. Interactive materials, available in English and Spanish, are designed for parents and families to enhance preschool curriculum and to support California expectations for preschool children. The program provides families with simple activities to support developmentally appropriate learning activities as they interact with their young children at home and in the community. Through use of technology such as videos and CD ROMS, lessons are provided for “at home” use. A website is also accessible for further support and resource information: www.virtualpre-k.org.
  • Adults and Children Together (ACT), Against Violence:
    A violence-prevention campaign focused on training adults working with young children and preparing groups of professionals to serve as agents of change. Curriculum includes anger management, discipline, social problem solving and media violence, at www.actagainstviolence.org.
